Cultural Access Grants

The Michigan Department of Education is pleased to announce a competitive Cultural Access Grant. Approximately $200,000 has been made available through Section 99P of the State School Aid Act of 2008 and 2009.
The purpose of this grant is to provide funds to school districts for field learning visits to cultural institutions. Students in grades K - 8, will have opportunities to visit locations that feature art, music, science, Michigan history, or related experiences. The visits are intended to be an extension of the student’s classroom program. Eligible applicants must have at least 50% of the pupils in membership meet the income eligibility criteria for free breakfast, lunch, or milk.

MCACA School Bus Fast Grants

The Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs announces the availability of School Bus Fast Grants - grants of up to $500 per K-12 school building for the documented transportation cost of a field trip to designated MCACA-affiliated arts and culture organizations (The Henry Ford is an eligible destination). The deadline to apply is February 8, 2010. MASCO Corporation Foundation Field Trip Scholarship

These scholarships are available to qualifying schools (Michigan schools in which at least 30 percent of students receive free or reduced-price lunches). Admission scholarships will be applied to the cost of admission for school group visits to Henry Ford Museum® or Greenfield Village®. Transportation scholarships will be applied to the cost of bus transportation ($200 per bus) for visits to Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, The Henry Ford IMAX® Theatre or Ford Rouge Factory Tour. (These scholarships are not applicable to special on-site programs such as G.A.M.E., One Room School or If I Had a Hammer.)
The Colina Foundation Field Trip Scholarship

The Colina Foundation and the Karen Colina Wilson Foundation are pleased to announce Transportation and Admission Scholarships. These scholarships are available to qualifying schools (Michigan Downriver schools in which at least 30 percent of students receive free or reduced lunches). Admission scholarships will be applied to the cost of admission for school group visits to Henry Ford Museum® or Greenfield Village®.Transportation scholarships will be applied to the cost of bus transportation ($200 per bus) for visits to Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, The Henry Ford IMAX® Theatre or Ford Rouge Factory Tour. The Pfizer Transportation Scholarship

The transportation scholarships are available to Michigan Washtenaw Intermediate School District Schools in which 30 percent of students receive free or reduced price lunches. Washtenaw ISD Schools include the following districts: Ann Arbor Public Schools, Chelsea School District, Dexter Community Schools, Lincoln Consolidated Schools, Manchester Community Schools, Milan Area Schools, Saline Area Schools, Whitmore Lake Public Schools, Willow Run Community Schools and Ypsilanti Public School District.
