Summary

Ford Motor Company's first home was in this factory building on Detroit's Mack Avenue, from the company's founding in June 1903 until its relocation to Piquette Avenue in late 1904-early 1905. Fire destroyed the building in 1941, a few years after this photograph was taken. The Mack Avenue plant was replicated at a reduced size in Greenfield Village in 1945.
