Ford GPA Amphibious Jeep, 1943

Summary

Like other American automakers, Ford Motor Company built vehicles and materiel for the Allied effort during World War II. Amphibious jeeps were assembled at the company's Rouge factory. Though it shared parts with the land-only GPW jeep, the amphibious GPA version had a longer wheelbase and weighed about 800 pounds more. Ford built 12,781 amphibious jeeps from 1942 to 1943.
