Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Rare Book Handling
  • Completion of previously developed survey
  • Research into provenance and value of library items

In addition, at the completion of the internship, with assistance and input from appropriate staff, the student will present a synopsis of the project to an audience of The Henry Ford staff.


Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate-level program with an archival or library focus
  • Experience with MS Excel

Additional desirable credentials:

  • Rare Book Handling Experience
  • Familiarity with MARC records
  • Research Skills

Successful completion of the internship will give the student experience with:

  • Rare Book collections
  • MARC records
  • Special Collection Policies
  • Provenance Research
  • Working relationship with a Special Collections library team
