At the time these records were transferred to storage in May 1969, the Textile Laboratory Section functioned within the Body Engineering Office of Ford Motor Company Body & Assembly Operations Division.
Scope and Content Note
Also known as the Master Bodycloth File, the Textile Laboratory Records (8 cubic ft.) consist of working files of Textile Laboratory Section staff. Files encompass all textiles, leather, and plastic used in 1965 Ford cars and trucks, including Falcon, Fairlane, Comet, Galaxie, Thunderbird, and others. Files include correspondence, testing reports, material samples, and specifications for fabrics.
