Henry Bedow Working inside an Airplane Wing at the Willow Run Bomber Plant, 1943

Summary

The Allies' victory in World War II relied on the work and commitment of all Americans. Little people helped produce B-24 Liberator bombers at Ford's Willow Run factory. They set rivets inside of the narrow center sections of wings, insulated the airplanes' fuel cells, and inspected work done in other confined spaces that larger workers could not access.
