Add to SetSummary
Henry Wallace was a leading liberal and progressive idealist in President Franklin Roosevelt's administration. In 1948, Wallace took up the Progressive Party's presidential mantle after disputes with President Truman. Wallace sought support from those who backed his policies during FDR's administration -- progressives, labor organizers and farmers. But his left-leaning views turned voters away. Wallace received a mere 2.4% of the vote.
