Continental Mark II Hood Ornament, 1956-1957

Summary

Ford Motor Company's separate Continental Division chose a four-pointed star as its emblem in 1956. In fact, the star itself evolved from a crest-style logo Lincoln adopted in the 1942 model year. The Continental Division was merged into Lincoln after just two years. Following that merger, the Continental star was adopted for the whole Lincoln line.
