Al Unser, pictured here, waited as his pit crew worked on his car. During this race Al's brother, Bobby Unser, crashed coming out of turn two during the 40th lap. Bobby exited his car unaided but medics airlifted him to a nearby hospital. Al parked his race car, withdrew from the race and accompanied his brother.
