Summary

After World War II, highways were flooded with family vacationers out to enjoy their new cars and all that America had to offer. Some families wanted to view the country's scenic beauty; others sought places of historic importance. This pennant with battlefield monuments and memorials depicted in the letters of the town's name reminded vacationers of their trip to Gettysburg, site of the famous Civil War battle.
