Walt Disney and Daughter Visiting Henry Ford Museum, August 1943

Summary

Walt Disney visited Henry Ford Museum with his wife, Lillian, and daughter, Diane, in August 1943. Disney visited the museum and neighboring Greenfield Village multiple times. The latter, with its re-created historic main street, railroad depot, and lagoon and steamboat, undoubtedly influenced Disney's ideas for his own Disneyland, which opened in 1955.
