Summary

The one-mile race track at Grosse Pointe, Michigan, opened in 1895 as a horse-racing facility. Soon, the turns were banked for auto racing and the track became home to the Detroit Driving Club. On October 10, 1901, an up-and-coming Henry Ford won a ten-mile car race at the track. It closed about 1905 and was replaced by a housing development.
