View of Ford Rouge Plant from Coal Bridge, August 20, 1937

Summary

Ford's Rouge plant had storage bins that held up to two million tons of iron ore, limestone, and coal. The concrete-walled bins were located along the boat slip. Material could be unloaded by crane from Great Lakes freighters and deposited directly into the bins, or it could be emptied by gravity from hopper cars on an elevated railroad line.
