What’s the most enchanting, nostalgic and fantastical Halloween adventure? It’s The Henry Ford’s Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village, Michigan's premier outdoor October celebration.
From harvest activities and fall themes to costumed storybook characters and ghostly performances, our Hallowe’en tradition is one of a kind, showcased within the bewitching setting of Greenfield Village after hours.
Hosted over 16 evenings in October, Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village is formatted for guests to stroll through the village at their own pace, picking and choosing their own festive or frightful experience.
Harvest-themed activities from the 18th and 19th centuries are included in the program's daytime hours for a family-friendly fall atmosphere that transitions to traditional Hallowe’en spookiness as twilight falls.
A must-see addition to your evening, the Hallowe’en Express is a fan-favorite that takes riders along a ghoulish and surprising journey through Greenfield Village. Tickets for the Hallowe'en Express are available as an add-on during the online purchase process for a small additional fee.

Tickets & Reservations
Due to high seasonal demand, we highly recommend purchasing tickets to Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village in advance. Tickets sell quickly each year.
Ticket purchasers can join an online queue at 8:00 a.m. ET for first access to tickets starting at 9:00 a.m. ET on both the member and public on-sale dates.
Hallowe’en Express train tickets are an additional $4 per person and can be conveniently added to your shopping cart during the online purchase process. All train tickets are timed and depart from Smiths Creek Station this year. Please arrive at the station 15 minutes prior to your ticket time. Walk-up Hallowe’en Express tickets can be purchased on-site if capacity is available.

- Trick-or-treating is no longer a programming element of Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village.
- Are guests allowed to wear costumes?
- Of course! Costumes are a fun way to celebrate the season; however, swords, sharp instruments and other weapons, real or imagined, are not allowed.
- Is there a timed entry?
- No, guests can arrive anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Please note that the event ends at 9:30 p.m.
- Where does the Hallowe’en Express depart?
- The Hallowe’en Express departs from Smiths Creek Station. Please reference this map of Greenfield Village for exact location details.
Walking time from the parking lot to Smiths Creek Station is 20-25 minutes. Please arrive at the station 15 minutes before your scheduled ticket time. - What if I arrive late for the Hallowe’en Express?
- Please try to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. We will do our best to accommodate guests who miss the train, but this cannot be guaranteed since this experience is often at full capacity for each time slot.
- Will the carousel be open?
- Yes, the carousel will be open all evening and is free to all guests.
- Will the playground be open?
- Yes, the playground will open at 4:00 p.m. and close at dark.
- Is there a time limit for my visit?
- There is no time limit for your visit. We encourage guests to take advantage of all Hallowe’en has to offer.
- Is there a limit to the number of tickets I can purchase?
- There is a limit of 25 tickets.
- Will on-site restaurants be open?
- Several full-scale restaurants will be open in addition to pop-up dining experiences:
- Frozen Custard: 4:00-9:30 p.m.
- Sir John Bennett: 4:00-9:00 p.m.
- Carousel Concessions: 4:00-9:00 p.m.
- Covered Bridge Concessions: 5:00-9:00 p.m.
- Stand 44: 4:00-9:00 p.m.
- A Taste of History: 6:30-9:00 p.m.

- The Henry Ford Culinary, Catering and Food Service teams work very hard to ensure that there is a wide variety of seasonal food offerings for vegan, gluten-free and allergen-sensitive guests.

- Does The Henry Ford offer refunds or exchanges in the event of extreme weather conditions?
Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village is held rain or shine and will be canceled only in the case of severe or dangerous weather; no refunds or exchanges will be given due to inclement weather. Dangerous conditions are determined by The Henry Ford in cooperation with local emergency services.
Please note that certain program elements may be suspended during the event in the case of lightning or other severe weather conditions.
- Do you offer ticket insurance?
- Yes, we offer FanShield Ticket Protection by Protecht.
You can add FanShield Ticket Protection to your online ticket purchase in case of unforeseen circumstances for a small fee. Fanshield covers ticket losses due to illness, injury, work travel, military service, transportation issues and more.

Join us for an evening of 19th-century Hallowe'en fun inside our famed Eagle Tavern. Visitors from the past will fill your evening with music and harvest games. Stroll down a path illuminated with hundreds of hand-carved jack-o’-lanterns and revel in the sights and sounds of Hallowe'en.
