It’s with much excitement today that I announce that The Henry Ford has partnered with Litton Entertainment, a leading independent production and distribution company, on a new national television series. The show will be called The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation and it will premiere on CBS this coming fall.

The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation will be a weekly half-hour news magazine hosted by Mo Rocca, of CBS News broadcasting, and two correspondents. The show will present inspiring and often untold stories using The Henry Ford’s archive of American Innovation to showcase present-day change-makers and the possibilities for future progress.

Mo is a correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning and host and creator of the Cooking Channel’s My Grandmother’s Ravioli, in which he learns to cook from grandmothers and grandfathers across the country. He's also a frequent panelist on NPR’s hit weekly quiz show Wait, Wait...Don’t Tell Me! Mo spent four seasons as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and four seasons as a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

In each episode of The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation, we’ll present 3-5 stories related to the process of innovation in categories of design, social innovation, technology and transportation using the exhibits, artifacts, innovators and insights of The Henry Ford as a springboard to present innovations and future ideas.

The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation will join “The CBS Dream Team, It’s Epic!” Saturday morning lineup in fall 2014. The CBS Dream Team is a three-hour FCC educational/informational compliant programming block that consists of six high-definition half-hours with a pro-social message targeted to viewers ages 13-to-16-years-old and appealing to viewers of all ages between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

The intent of The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation is to stimulate curiosity and to inspire audiences with entertaining yet educational stories about yesterday and today’s visionaries, turning points that changed the course of history, as well as innovations, and inventions that changed the world.

Members, families, educators, students or anyone who is a fan of the show, we encourage you to visit The Henry Ford on site as well as access some of the show’s content by visiting our website in the coming months.

The Henry Ford's Innovation Nation is a very important initiative here at The Henry Ford that strongly supports our vision of becoming a nationally recognized destination and force for fueling the spirit of American innovation and inspiring a “can-do” culture. We’ll now be able to share the stories of perseverance, passion and ingenuity that we tell on our campus every day to audiences across the country.

We’ll be sharing news and updates about the show here on the blog and across our social channels soon. Until then, I hope you’re just as excited as I am about this wonderful new endeavor for The Henry Ford.
