Featured What We Wore Collection | Movie Costumes from Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis

Open Beginning April 23, 2025

Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis is a Roman epic fable set in an imagined modern America. Milena Canonero's stunning costumes for this futuristic film merge contemporary flair with elements from ancient Greece and Rome.

Inspired by the screenwriter's script and the director's vision, an actor further develops a character, creating the way the character speaks, thinks, moves and experiences emotion. Costumes provide the final transformation.

“Meet” characters from the movie in this up-close look at their costumes: Hamilton Crassus III, the world's richest man; Wow Platinum, a conniving beauty with a quest for money and power; and Franklyn Cicero, the mayor of New Rome, where greed and special interests reign.
