From the tavern keeper’s welcome to the last bite of our house-baked desserts, Eagle Tavern feels as inviting today as it must have felt in 1800-era Michigan.
The Wood family, the owners in 1850, were farmers and sourced from what they raised and foraged to feed their guests. Eagle Tavern became a social center of town, and this spirit infuses the dining hall just as vibrantly now.
Take in the conviviality with a specialty cocktail or a temperance beverage, or linger over a seasonally inspired meal, curated to be faithful to original Eagle Tavern menus and historic specialties. We cook what Michigan grows, with recipes handed down from the cooks that made their home here 175 years ago.
