The Henry Ford Honors Rosa Parks’ Legacy with Free Event on Sunday, December 1
The Henry Ford will commemorate the 69th anniversary of Rosa Park’s Montgomery bus arrest in 1955 with a special free event, Standing For Justice: Rosa Parks’ Detroit on Sunday, Dec. 1. This curated program will take place in The Henry Ford’s Anderson Theater at 3 p.m. and is free to guests with registration.

The Henry Ford will host An Evening with Mo Rocca as he shares stories from his latest book, ROCTOGENARIANS: Late in Life Debuts, Comebacks, and Triumphs. Geoffrey Harris Young Is the New Principal for Henry Ford Academy
The Henry Ford’s public charter high school, Henry Ford Academy (HFA) welcomed Geoffrey Harris Young as its new principal. Young replaced longtime HFA principal Cora Christmas, who retired in June after 26 years.

Dinosaurs in Motion is a new, interactive, engaging STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) exhibition that is truly for visitors of all ages. The Henry Ford’s Glass Shop Lead, Ryan Thompson is featured on season four of the Netflix series, Blown Away. Thompson, faces nine other incredible glassblowers from around the country. Thompson, a native of Sandusky, Ohio has been with the glass shop in Greenfield Village for more than six years.

™PAW Patrol: Adventure Play Helps Save The Day at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation
Kids and families can now play and save the day with the heroic PAW Patrol pups, at the brand-new PAW Patrol: Adventure Play exhibit, open to the public February 18, 2024, at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Based on the hit preschool series PAW Patrol, which is produced by Spin Master Entertainment and airs on Nickelodeon, this interactive exhibit gives kids and their grownups an opportunity to run rescue missions and work together to overcome challenges in a fun and immersive environment.

Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation Welcomes the 1918 Cadillac Type 57 from the National Historic Vehicle Register
The 1918 Cadillac Type 57, with engine number 57A704, is currently on display in the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation’s National Historic Vehicle Register exhibit, powered by the Hagerty Drivers Foundation. On display until July 2024, this vehicle has a strong connection to America’s involvement in World War I.

The Henry Ford is Taking Significant Steps to Ensure Respectful Repatriation of Cultural Items as Defined by NAGPRA
The Henry Ford recently discovered Native American Cultural items that may be subject to NAGPRA, Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. The institution is embarking on a transformative journey guided by the principles of NAGPRA and taking significant steps to ensure the respectful repatriation of cultural items to their rightful Tribal nations, through a call for consultation. No ancestral remains were identified.

The Henry Ford Announces Farm to School Lunch Initiatives Including Endowment for Henry Ford Academy's Lunch Program
Bridging history with innovation, the institution is expanding its education initiatives that focus on the importance of food, agriculture and the environment with the announcement of a Farm to School Lunch Across America program and an endowment for Henry Ford Academy's locally-sourced farm to school lunches. The announcement was made by The Henry Ford's President and CEO, Patricia Mooradian, at the institution's Carver-Carson Society's Moveable Feast held this year in Greenfield Village on September 17 and featured actor and activist Jane Fonda, chef and farm-to-table pioneer Alice Waters and historian Douglas Brinkley.

Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village presented by Meijer
The Henry Ford’s Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village presented by Meijer is a one-of-a-kind tradition showcasing harvest markets, over 1,000 jack-o-lanterns, costumed storybook characters and ghostly performances. Hosted over 16 evenings Oct. 5-8, 12-15, 19-22, 26-29 from 4 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., the enchanting event is designed for guests to stroll through the village at their own pace, for a personalized festive or frightful experience.

The Henry Ford Acquires and will Preserve Selma, Alabama Home in which Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Planned the Selma-to-Montgomery Marches in 1965
The Henry Ford, a 250-acre cultural destination and National Historic Landmark in Dearborn, Michigan acquired and will preserve the Selma, Alabama home of Dr. and Mrs. Sullivan Jackson. The historic home, known as the Jackson House, served as a safe haven where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others worked, collaborated, strategized and planned the Selma-to-Montgomery marches of 1965. The marches served as protests against the systemic racist policies within the south and raised awareness of the struggles black voters faced.

The Henry Ford announced today that General Motors Company president Mark Reuss will succeed Evan Weiner as the institution’s new Board Chair. Weiner, a trustee for The Henry Ford for nearly 20 years, has served as Board Chair since 2009. He will remain a trustee with the institution.

Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation to Showcase A 1966 Volkswagen Deluxe Station Wagon “Micro Bus” as part of the Hagerty Drivers Foundation’s National Historic Vehicle Register Display
Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, in partnership with the Hagerty Drivers Foundation’s National Historic Vehicle Register, will welcome a rotating selection from the Register’s prestigious group of significant American automobiles. This special pop-up will showcase a new vehicle from the Register every six months. On January 14, the next vehicle to be featured is a 1966 Volkswagen Deluxe Station Wagon “Micro Bus,” the primary means of transportation for a couple at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement in South Carolina.

The Henry Ford announced today the addition of four new members to its Board of Trustees in 2022. Kouhaila ‘Ki’ Hammer, CPA, President and CEO of Ghafari Associates and Jon Oberheide, Co-Founder and CTO at Duo Security were elected by the board and joined the institution in March, 2022.
