Marsha P. Johnson New Pride Flag, "You never completely have your rights, one person, until you All have your rights," 2018

Summary

Marsha P. Johnson -- a drag performer and self-identified transvestite (the word “transgender” was not widely used in her lifetime) -- was a tireless advocate for gay rights. This print, featuring a quote from Johnson, honors the intersectional legacies of Black LGBTQ+ leaders, as well as Daniel Quasar's redesign of the Pride Flag to include stripes for BIPOC and trans people.
